Fritz rolled up the sidewalk on his little robot wheels. A big shaggy dog with a drooly tongue bounded toward him with his tail happily wagging.
“Hi, Mr. Dog. My name is Fritz. What’s your name?” Fritz asked. Fritz’s voice sounded like a machine.
The dog just wagged its tail and licked Fritz’s metal cheek. Fritz laughed.
“I forgot that dogs can’t talk,” said Fritz. “I’m sorry I can’t stay and play. I have to find someone who might know what the pitter patter is right here,” he said, pointing to the dog’s chest. The dog cocked his head sideways and Fritz waved. “Goodbye!”
Maybe the humans would know. He set off to find one.
